DeLillo, Death, and Revision
The writing process for this essay has been just
that, a process. I have rearranged and revised my essay countless times and yet
it still doesn't seem right. I don’t
know if I just fight the essay and the process to much or if my OCD just keeps
getting in the way. I have learned with
this essay that I do need to follow an outline more because of the way DeLillo
writes. He actually puts a lot of information
in his story so in order to make my essay clear and have learned how to write a
clear and concise outline.
Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI have to agree completely Michelle that this essay has been quite the process! Firstly, that book was a lot to read! Especially with adding those critical essays to it and then having to write a paper on it. This paper is our last and I think we are all trying our best to receive the best grade on it. I will be revising and editing until right before its due, hoping to feel great about it. An outline is definitely a very important part to the writing process and I think everyone sometimes forgets that! I know I have many times. I wish you the best of luck on this paper! Have a great rest of the semester! We're almost there!
Molly
Michelle,
ReplyDeleteIt seems like I have been writing for days and have never done this much writing before! I keep going back and forth to my Essay wanting it to be great but I worry so much! Ha! I have revised my essay several times as well and have even had my younger brother, who is in high school, read over my essay. I never thought about how the way that DeLillo wrote would affect my writing but I completely agree with you. When I first started the Essay I found myself bouncing around topics and not really making sense and I did not understand why. I wish you luck with your future writings!
This essay was definitely more of a challenge on account of all the available choices to write about within the novel. Unlike the shorter works that were the focus of our other essays in this class, White Noise was full of possible essay topics. I would agree that it took more planning to narrow down the thesis and stick to it. Good luck with the essay. :)
